Everybody’s dying to hear about our “Skinny Vacation” to Sedona and we finally have some pics, Yeah!!!!

So here’s a quick run down of our insanity:

We arrived at the Briar Patch Inn and suffice it to say I think everybody loved the accommodations. Oh wait I’ll let them tell you.

Comments went something like this-  “Oh my gosh, I love it here” as they scurried around like kids on a playground.

Then it was time to sit down and enjoy a little lecture on vortexes from a local celebrity, Mr. Sedona.

And some of us fell under his spell…  Grace are you sleeping back there?

“My vortex brings all the boys to the yard”

Sorry folks, you have to actually come on the trips to know how funny that was…..

Then it was time for dinner. Stacey whipped up the most amazing cedar plank salmon and Molli only had one minor heart attack, but we think she’ll recover fully.

Here are just a few of the comments regarding the food-

OMG Best food ever!

Excellent taste and proportions

Briar Patch breakfast were delicious. However, Stacy's meals were excellent.

Both the Briar patch and Stacey's food were great

Then it was sleepy time, so we could get up early and out to our hikes!

First stop Bell Rock

Everybody was fresh so it was hard to keep “hot salsa” from running….Cathy…. Ramona…. No Running….

Oh here come the walkers now….  Good Hikers!

Then it was on to another hike

“What do you mean we’re going up there?”

Kevin James making it to the top!

comment from skinny vacationer, Kim

“My favorite part of the trip was being able to complete all the hikes. It was a great feeling!”

Then it was on to lunch and more hiking!

That night everybody hit the town and got to see some of the touristy stuff and the rest of us hit the sack!

The next day it was up early, for some Yoga, led by Laura, in a beautiful setting.

Then it was on to BearMtn.

They don’t call it Bear Mountain for nothing…

Look we even got the runners to walk for a little bit…

 Here’s Laura leading the way

right before Ramona put her hand in a cactus.

 But she survived!

You have no idea how proud I was of everybody for getting to the top of this baby!  It was no easy task.

Margaret said she would do it next time… You’re my witness.

Stacey, thanks for not pushing her…. I know that’s what you were thinking!

And then as you can see the skies got a little dark and we got rained out of one of my favorite hikes, but we had lots of fun games to play back at the lodge.

Janet “no fear” Evans, walking on broken glass !!

Kim, “that girl” making it look easy!

And then just like that, it was over….  Here are some of the comments we got back from our guests

-Thanks guys for the best time ever! I over came much on this trip! Words can not express my appreciation!

-Had a wonderful time, loved every bit of it & enjoyed everyone, as Molli would say "You guys rock!"

-My stomach has shrunk so much after the well proportioned and frequent meals.

-You all did a fantastic job in making me feel comfortable in what is out of my comfort zone.

-I had a great time and I enjoyed myself immensely

-I can't wait to go again! I know the trips will fill up fast!

-We had a great time. We really felt challenged.

-Thanks again for a wonderful trip!

-I loved every moment of the trip. I wish it were longer!

-I loved the view. I felt like I accomplished Mt.Everest! I never dreamed that I could have hiked/climbed such a feat! Thank you Stacy for getting us up that hill!

 -Molly-you are a great planner!

-I enjoyed the total relaxation of having everything taken care of. I like being told what to do once in a while.

-the trip was well planned, extremely organized, the execution was flawless. Also the planned meals and snacks.

-Not a boring minute, the views were breathtaking once you reached a mesa.

And a final word from Ron (When asked what his least favorite part was about the trip)-

“Falling on my face while running. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Then it's hilarious!”

And when asked if they would consider joining us again?  They answered…

 A unanimous!

 -In a heart beat!

 Anything you didn’t like?

 -      It was too short.

As all great trips do, it went by so fast.

and a special Thanks to Brian Turney, for all the beautiful photos and James for supplying the rainy day games!

Might I add, from all of us, Thank you for allowing us to take you on this journey I guarantee it was as much fun and as life changing for us as it was for all of you!

 Love,

Molli, Tony, Stacey and (her vortex brings all the boys to the yard) Laura
